You Are Our Heart & Soul - Letter from the CEO

Interfaith Works volunteers in action!

Dear Friend:

April is a special month, because it is our chance to recognize one of the essential ingredients in our success: YOU! April is Volunteer Appreciation Month.

It may sound trite but this is literally true: I don’t know where we would be without you.

Because of you, our neighbors who are going through difficult times feel loved and cared for. You bring meals. You knit mittens. You teach Zumba. You sort through piles of donations to ensure families have clothes to wear. You bring special gifts at holiday time, on Valentine’s Day, and on Mother’s and Father’s Days. You celebrate birthdays. You help practice job interviews and polish up resumes. You give so much.

What really touches my heart is hearing you talk about how important the volunteering experience at IW is to you and that you feel it gives you something in return.

Mimi Beall, a long-time IW supporter and volunteer, told us:

“Part of my philosophy of life is to be here. This is one of the great missions of our lives. You never know when you do something where that path will take you. We learn from the people we help, and they learn from us.”

Thank you to Mimi and our many volunteers for being there for our neighbors. We appreciate you. You are our heart and soul.

With gratitude,

Courtney Hall

CEO
