Clothing Center Assistance

The Interfaith Works Clothing Center in Rockville provides families who are struggling economically with clothing and home goods free of charge.

Shopping at the IW Clothing Center is by appointment. Additionally, only one adult per household may enter the Clothing Center during each appointment time. During their first appointment, shoppers should bring proof of ID, Montgomery County residency, and that they qualify for the program.

Food Pantry Assistance

The Interfaith Works Food Pantry is a choice pantry model, allowing individuals and families to select their food and diapers in a store-like setting. Shopping times are by appointment. The program serves families residing in the following zip codes: 20850, 20851, 20852, 20853, and 20854. Families within these zip codes can follow the link below to make an appointment once a week. Families outside of these zip codes can shop for food after their monthly clothing appointment.

Emergency Financial Assistance

The IW Connections Program refers individuals to many types of services available to Montgomery County residents, including emergency financial, rental, and utility assistance.

Employment Programs

The IW Vocational Services Program (VSP) provides comprehensive, individualized support for people who have limited income and who may have experienced homelessness. Such support can include help with resume preparation, job searches, employment applications, and interview preparation. Through this comprehensive employment support program, VSP Counselors strengthen the financial stability of individuals and their families.

Hire MoCo is a new concept in IW VSP that hopes to connect companies and business owners to qualified, work-ready candidates while at the same time contributing solutions to the employment gaps in our community. Emergency Shelter

IW Drop-In Center at Progress Place is a day use program that is open to everyone. The Drop-In Center hosts free and daily laundry, showers, case management, computer lab, therapeutic and recreational groups. It’s located at 8106 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910, the Drop-In Center (2nd floor) shares the Progress Place location with Shepherd's Table (1st floor) who serves meals daily.

Adults who are experiencing homelessness, are on their own without minor children, and are from Montgomery County should call the Montgomery County Crisis Center to obtain a referral for emergency shelter.

The Montgomery County Crisis Center is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for those needing emergency shelter and homeless-related resources.
