IW Hosts Faith Community Meeting

As Interfaith Works (IW) continues to celebrate its 50th year, it will convene faith-based organizations at the Annual Faith Community Meeting on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 6:15 pm to 8:30 pm at the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors' Center, Kensington, MD.

“The event is an opportunity for old and new partners to reflect on our collective work in the past year,” Reverend Dr. Rosetta Robinson, IW Director of Faith and Community Partnerships, said.

Under the theme, “A Commitment to Serve Together,” the 2022 annual meeting marks a milestone in the history of IW. Since its founding by congregations in 1972, the non-profit organization has brought faith communities together to connect and act on a mutual commitment to serve vulnerable neighbors.

Senator Chris Van Hollen, County Executive Marc Elrich, Montgomery County Council Vice President Evan Glass, and Reverend Timothy Warner of Emory Grove United Methodist Church will attend as guest speakers.

The evening will include networking, food, presentations, testimonials, and music performances from Mosaic Harmony and the Jazz Academy of Music. Ayesha Khan of WTTG-Fox 5 DC and Jim Stowe of the Montgomery County Office of Human Rights will emcee.

The event is open to all members of faith-based groups in Montgomery County, as well those interested in learning about IW’s integrated emergency and supportive housing, essential needs, and employment programs that are addressing poverty and homelessness in Montgomery County.

Registration is requested on or before October 28, 2022 at https://cutt.ly/uV8veE2. For queries, Mr. Sam Taylor can be reached at staylor@iworksmc.org or (301) 532-6913.
