IW Connections Receives Support from the PHI Community Foundation-Pepco Region

The PHI Community Foundation raised funds for Interfaith Works (IW) and two other nonprofit organizations at the 17th Annual PHI Community Foundation Golf Classic-Pepco Region, to help families struggling to meet their energy needs.

With the theme “Building More Resilient Communities, So We Can Drive Positive Change,” the September 12, 2022 event also opened opportunities for IW to promote its integrated emergency shelter, supportive housing, essential needs, and employment programs.

“We are longtime partners of PEPCO in helping make energy security accessible to everyone in Montgomery County.  Often, this is the first step towards stability for those in need,” Mr. Courtney Hall, IW Chief Executive Officer said.

The PHI Community Foundation donated $80,000 through the collective efforts of event sponsors and supporters.

Funds allocated to the organization will go to IW Connections, which provides neighbors in need with emergency rental and utility assistance as well as referrals to other essential services within IW and throughout Montgomery County. In the prior fiscal year, the program served nearly 1,500 clients in the area.
