From the CEO - ‘Without judgment and in times of great necessity’

Comments from clients about the impact of IW’s Family Services Programs

Dear Friend,

Interfaith Works' Family Services programs provide a lifeline to thousands of our neighbors by providing food, clothing, home goods, and a connection to emergency financial assistance and other essential services. In reviewing some of our clients' comments about what these programs mean to them, I was particularly touched by this statement:

"I have been able to receive free clothing without judgment and in times of great necessity."

How simply and beautifully this captures the essential mission of Interfaith Works: to meet people's needs, without judgment and at a time when they need it most.

As families come to the IW Clothing Center in late summer to select backpacks, it is a time of great joy and excitement as each child chooses that “special one.” These interactions serve another important purpose: providing an opportunity for IW Family Services program staff to connect with parents and start conversations about their other needs, like food, clothing, financial assistance, or other vital services.

These programs work together to meet the needs of our clients – without judgment and in times of great necessity. That is why donations to the back-to-school campaign will help families get ready for school in all the ways they need it – backpacks, school supplies, food, clothing, and other necessities. I hope you will consider supporting our campaign. Learn more here.

Many thanks to those of you who have already provided generous support. Together, we are helping our neighbors find a pathway to stability.

With gratitude,

Courtney Hall

CEO
